Swedish South Polar Expedition 1901-1903: 1902, official Expedition envelope with EXPEDITION ANTARCTIQUE SUEDOISE imprint at top left, sent by Otto Nordenskjold to his father, franked with Falkland Islands 2½d. cancelled by 3 April 1902 cds to Ekso, Sweden and redirected, a partial strike of the oval Expedition cachet S. Y. "ANTARCTIC" / SWEDISH / EXPEDITION on the reverse (the back of the cover is damaged and with parts missing), facially fine; a rare cover from the leader of the expedition, probably written at the winter station in January 1902 and brought to Port Stanley for posting.
