1854-2000's THE GREAT COLLECTION / KOLEKSI BESAR: The highly specialized Dr. Majid collection of the Malaysian postal history including stamps, cancellations and covers from the various Malaysian States including North Borneo, Labuan, Sarawak and Brunei as well as the period of Japanese Occupation and Malaysia, well written up on pages and housed in over 220 big binders and albums, plus further material and over 10 boxes, starting 1854 with India used in Penang, Malacca and Singapore including a lot of scarce stamps, stamps used bisected (on pieces) etc., several with certificates, followed by Straits Settlements and Malaysian States stamps, cancellations (as on Thai stamps) and covers, from various early overprinted issues including the "Star & Crescent" ovpts (certificates), mint and used stamp up to highest values as $100 and $500, complete issues overprinted or perforated "SPECIMEN", a lot of colour shades, types of overprints, papers and watermarks, a large number of scarce errors, flukes and varieties, and an important section Japanese Occupation of Malaya with rare items (many certified), even accompanied by multiples, covers and postal stationery items. Dr. Majid, the famous philatelist from Selangor, well known both in the community of collectors as well as by dealers worldwide, collected unusual items also before they became 'fashionable' and listed in catalogues, and consequently he could include so many extraordinary highlights in his collection. There are remarkable items like Straits Settlements 1867 12c. on 4a. with double ovpt., all the 11 types of 1880 10c. ovpt. used or 1894 3c. on 32c. with ovpt. omitted, Fed. Malay States 1st and 2nd issues up to $25 mint or 1904-22 50c. Tiger with Wmk inverted (SG 47b) as maginal single and block of four, Johore with multiple 1949 6c. Wmk error "St. Edward's Crown", and many other 'specials' from the other States, the Jap. Occ. period and Malaysia. It is quite unlikely that such a collection is coming on the market as one auction lot, and so it is the opportunity to acquire Dr. Majid's life work as his entire and untouched collection. A REMARKABLE, OUTSTANDING AND IN THIS EXTEND AND VARITY UNIQUE COLLECTION OF MALAY STAMPS AND POSTAL HISTORY.
